I know what it feels like to be overlooked, to question your place, and to wonder if all the hours in the cage will ever pay off. By my junior year of high school, I had only four at-bats the entire season. I carried that weight for years — the frustration, the doubt, the drive to prove myself. By my senior year, I was committed and in running for Player of the Year.
Those experiences forced me to look deeper. I started searching for answers — studying swing mechanics, movement, approach, and the mental side of performance. Through college ball and beyond, I chased everything that could help me unlock consistency and confidence.
That pursuit led me to coaching.
I wanted to become the kind of coach I always needed — someone with real answers, who understood what it feels like to go 0-for-4 after putting in the work. One coach changed the trajectory of my career, and I knew the right coach could change someone else’s too.
What sets my coaching apart isn’t just fixing swings. It’s building trust, mentoring athletes, and being there when they need it most. Because I know what it feels like to be lost, overlooked, and frustrated — and what it takes to fight your way back.

With over a decade of professional coaching experience, Rob Benjamin brings elite-level hitting instruction to every session at Barrel Club. A former Minor League hitting coach for the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees organizations, Rob has developed hitters at the highest levels of the game — from young
prospects to Major League-ready talent.
His approach combines professional-grade swing mechanics with a deep understanding of what it takes to compete at the next level.
Rob's ability to break down a swing, identify key adjustments, and communicate them clearly makes him one of the most sought-after hitting coaches in the region.

I grew up in the Hudson Valley and played baseball at Ketcham High School, where I learned early what hard work and commitment really mean. After competing in college baseball, I realized how much proper training impacts performance — not just physically, but mentally.
I hold a B.S. in Fitness Development and am NASM Certified, which allows me to bridge strength science with the demands of high-level sport. Right now, I’m part of the Marist Athletics strength and conditioning staff, working with collegiate athletes every day to help them move better, perform better, and stay healthy.
At Barrel Club, I bring that same approach to our players — combining structure, intent, and accountability to build complete athletes.
Outside the facility, I compete in bodybuilding, which keeps me grounded in the same mindset I ask from my athletes — consistency, discipline, and patience.
My goal isn’t just to build stronger players.
It’s to help them transform the way they think and approach everything they do —
to develop not just better athletes, but better people.
